Early Century Brick Farmhouse Transformation
This beautiful painted-brick farmhouse was in need of some loving care and the owners wanted to renovate but not lose the charm of their older home.
A two-story addition to the right of the front door was added, and the doorway overhang was finished in copper, mirroring the existing front door treatment.
An upper deck with a custom fence railing was built atop the addition.
The front door to the new addition was surrounded by custom wooden trellis grounding the structure enclosed by a charming fence. New windows showcased black shutters. The addition was finished in a horizontal colonial blue siding while the original structure was repainted a colonial blue.
The front grounds were terraced and stone retaining walls and garden provided a picturesque scene.
The transformation of the back of the home was even more dramatic than the front. The old, wooden 2-story staircase leading up to a back door was removed and a brand-new deck and stairs were designed to sit atop a custom arched brick support, adding not only functionality but beauty to the back elevation of this home.
The custom addition was trimmed in white paneled wood, with gleaming new windows and a custom copper roof above the addition and the bay window. The contrast of the white woodwork and the colonial blue brick and siding together with the brickwork make this transformation a stunning visual.
